An extension says it can "read and change your data on websites you visit". Is this safe?

Hi! Addon Pay helps developers monetize their browser extensions. While we don’t control what creators do with your data in their extensions, Addon Pay itself does not read, record, or modify any of the websites you visit.

The only time Addon Pay collects your data is when you make a payment. We store your email and securely process your payment via Stripe↗. We never sell or share your information.

What happens if a paid user uninstalls and reinstalls an extension?

Developers can configure how paid access is restored. If allowed, users enter the email they used to pay and receive a login link to reactivate premium features.

What about taxes?

You are responsible for taxes on sales from your extension. Stripe provides tax reports to make this easier.

How do I reset my extension's paid or trial status in development?

During development, a reset link is available to clear payment and trial data, so you can test different user states. Extensions automatically leave test mode when published to Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or other stores.

What about user privacy?

Users are anonymous until they pay. Addon Pay does not store credit card information — Stripe handles all payment data. We only store email addresses for account management.
